Lips & Legends Issue #3 (E-Zine) by Kamryn Kingsberry

Lips & Legends is a monthly zine/E-zine (in PDF format). Each issue features a short story or excerpt from a longer work, poetry, a creative essay, and the script of an episode from my fiction podcast series, Inquizitive Kat Books.

However, this issue is comprised of one longish (25-page) short story masquerading as an experimental essay. Now, as you may know if you’ve read previous issues of L&L, I generally include the script for an episode of my dystopian podcast series, a poem(?), and an essay. However, I didn’t see a natural breaking point for my story, Good Morning, Writer’s Doubt! Sit Down, or The Author’s Table. So, I decided to include it in its entirety in a single issue. That said, for the sake of brevity, I’ve omitted the script, poem(?), and essay. They’ll be back for issue #4.

I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed crafting it for my first non-fiction workshop. Eh-hem, yes, I tried to pass this off as non-fiction. I know that will sound strange after you’ve read it, but bear in mind that ill-fitting categorization is what necessitated framing it as an essay.
